This area is located around the north pole - there is a chance this is a program glitch, though the only way to know for sure would be to either tap into a spy satellite or launch a power enough wireless camera into a polar orbit.
Anonymous, October 3, 2008 at 9:14 PM: Hi, Although I do wholeheartedly believe that we will experience something amazing around mid-October, we can't really look too much into those Google Earth images. The satellites that take geographical data, including pictures, are known to take them in square patterns. What looks like a square on the globe, could very well be two areas taken at different times with different weather patterns etc... Can't wait till this happens!

The one is called Care2 Which you can sign petitions and communicate with many other people from the community so it is a network all in one but also with tips, ideas on saving the environment and signing petitions.

Do something.org Which shares ideas and tips on what you can do to help others, or start fundraising or whatever else that is on there. It has alot of really good ideas.

Save the planet and win: A great way to just use your mouse to click, win prizes and save the planet all at the same time. IT's free to sign up and i've won $5 already doing it.

Plant a Billion Trees: This site you can go to and donate a few dollars to plant some trees. I've planted 20 already.
